Born and bred in Miami, Marilyn Caserta is a Cuban-Italian-American performer who has been stealing the karaoke mic, putting on plays, and dancing up a storm since she was 5. She began training at the age of 10 as the youngest member of the Actors’ Playhouse Musical Miracles in Miami, FL. Four summers later, she auditioned for the Area Stage Theatre Conservatory and it was there that her passion for theatre truly flourished.
Marilyn was one of the youngest accepted as an acting apprentice into the NYS&F Powerhouse Apprentice Company at Vassar College and was a recipient of a 2013 YoungArts Merit Award. At 18, she made the move to New York City, where she trained for two years at the Atlantic Acting School,
After Atlantic, Marilyn had the pleasure of working professionally in several regional productions, followed by performances at the Copacabana in Times Square for New Year’s Eve and singing backup for artists, including Cynthia Erivo and Sara Bareilles, at the St. James Theatre. She recently completed her 3rd year in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as Mrs. Claus and will be starring in Flat Rock Playhouse's West Side Story as Maria this upcoming summer.
In addition to performing, Marilyn is a fitness instructor and social media coordinator for Vixen Workout NYC, a Miami-inspired hip hop cardio class based out of NEOU on fifth Avenue (@vixenworkoutnyc). She also recently launched her company Stage to Script, where she makes commission-based artwork and signage, specializing in Modern Calligraphy (@stagetoscript).
